VALORANT - Sunset Defender Vista

We recently released our new map for Valorant that is based in and inspired by Los Angeles. This was the first map that I was part of the entire production cycle from start to finish and was I able to help with a lot of the vista areas. During the entire production I focused a lot on the Defender Spawn vista which would also be a big part in marketing and trailers leading up to the Valorant champions final that took place in 2023. Having a recreation of what's in the cinematics in game has been a real fun challenge and took a lot of iterations to get right. Thanks to Kevin Brunt who was the map lead for the entire map and my leads Brian Yam and George Sokol who helped me a lot with the design of the sinkhole and facility and the many changes that we did to the vista and the many requests from marketing.
Valeria Yang was the VFX artist who took the entire vista to the next level with her amazing VFX work. This would just be a boring sinkhole without it.
